Measuring just 15 x 10 x 13cm, they’re almost frivolously small. Even AudioEngine knows that grills are for pussies. The little speakers get stuck right in, pounding through the tune with determination and summoning quite startling low-end attack.
These sound like computer speakers. After moving a truckload of stuff off of my desk I went with the stands they were designed to use and things improved. Declare independence from the British sound! Angel by Massive attack sounds punchy and kind of deep.

Great speakers for classical music. There is probably a way audioengkne this perhaps with a duo mini plug jack – but haven’t figured it out yet. Heavy internal sound-damping material is used to reduce unwanted sound reflections inside the cabinet. This shielding also offers protection for hard drive-based digital music players.
Positioned on a desktop, as every pair of A2s is sure to be, the Audioengines focus reasonably well aaudioengine but they’re more sensitive to positioning than is ideal for a product of this type. To avoid the speaker bottoming out I put a 20dB cut below 40Hz, which actually freed up a little room to enhance the bass response with a little audioengins around 70Hz.

My 2a is a 15 Macbook Pro in a henge aluminum dock and I connect the speakers via the usb port on my desktop dell monitor – it all looks very clean, not wireless clean, but pretty darn nice.
