M-Audio BX5 D2 specs. M-Audio BX5 D2 reviews. Rated 5 out of 5 by JazzPianoTickler from Good for personal keyboard amplification I needed a pair of good-quality powered speakers to attach to my keyboard. However, when I hooked those up and played my keyboard with a plain piano sound, they would crackle each time I played a loud chord and I didn’t even have them turned up very loud.

So I returned the AV 40’s and got these instead. I have been very happy with them–there’s enough dynamic headroom to avoid the crackling sound on loud chords, and the sound is very clear although dd2 as much bass as my Mackie monitors, which I use with my DAW.
They work great for that they aren’t the best monitors out there. If bc5 don’t have much money to spend, these are great. They have way more bass then I would have d thought and I only use them at a quarter volume because they are so loud. These are great starter monitors and I would recommend them to anyone. I will us them for years to come. The thing that is great about them is even when I get better quality monitors I am sure I will continue to us these to go back for another view on the song.

A flat reference mic and a spectrum analyser is also a must in order to assist me with my acoustic treatment in our project studio. The Behringer ref monitors might be flatter, but I’ll make that decition at a later date, and if so I’ll get them as my 3’rd pair and use theese as mid and rear surround speakers.
Maybe it’s my old ears- perhaps a youngster would find them average. I’ve only had them a few days- but so far I’m impressed. Good balanced connections in the back. They are large, perhaps a bit large for desktop use. Maybe stands would be better.
Also a headphone jack would be nice as my old m-audio DX4’s had that and it was very convenient. Overall very good for the price.
I’m adding acoustic panels and will measure with a flat mic to compair on a spectrum analyser, so It’ll be OK bz5. Rated 5 out of 5 by Newbie Audiophile from I bought these speakers and I love them. But after that 3. I have a few specific songs with which I test new audio gear so I can make fair comparisons. My list is as such: There are many instruments and plenty of lows to highs, depending on the part of the song 17 minutes song.
Metallica – Nothing Else V2 – this is my all time favorite song, gear that can’t play it properly just isn’t proper gear for me. Dream Theater – One Last Time – I use this song to really look for these tiny bits and details in Mike Portnoy’s drumming, things such as Ride’s Bell strike or tiny touches of Splash cymbals. I believe the Mids could be just a tiny bit sharper, I feel like they b5 get there but not quite, as heard in On the Backs of Angels and One Last Time, which is kind of disappointing because I don’t like focusing on trying to hear these small details, but rather I like simply hearing them, like I do with my AD’s.
So that’s a little drawback. However it may be caused because I haven’t yet bought a proper stand, therefore the tweeters’ position is a bit lower than ideal. Anyway, My second complaint is that the Highs might sound a tiny bit harsh in certain parts, if the volume is high enough.
That’s because the song bbx5 concentrates on the Lows and Mid-Lows which is the strong side of the BX5’s. I’m even not shy to say that I heard a tiny little detail of which I hadn’t even heard with my beloved AD’s that detail was James inhaling air, possible that I heard it because the volume was quite high.
But those disadvantages are really just nitpicking, because these speakers are a bargain – nonetheless, and I am dead satisfied. I’ve listened to the Audioengine A2’s which cost about the same, if not – more and these are so much better. And about the positioning again: Note that these do NOT include cables – you must purchace them separately. Rated 5 out of 5 by AryxMyth from Great clarity of sound Bz5 am someone who has been building a home studio for some time now, but only recently got around to getting some decent studio monitors.
If you are considering getting these in place of basic PC speakers it will be like going from a ‘s era TV to a modern wide screen high def! I love the little guide lights and the literature that accompanies the monitors to help you position them for the best clarity.
They are very solid, they come with pads to absorb vibration from the shelf they set on, and they look and sound great. Be the first to review this item. Write a review abvyswztwcexutssscbysz. M-Audio BX5 D2 accessories.
