They DO really good products for those big things, but not hte SR-series and below. Companies like JBL make most profit by selling crap with their popular name on jlb. Why does the JBL series have the better image? Because they built good stuff in the 80s and are still building good stuff, that is extremely expensive. I got to buy JBL!
The high price keeps the complete idiots away from JBL.
JBL SR4732 Plans
Was sold for some bucks less than the SR-X are now. Same midrange speakers and as far as I know same HF driver. The difference is the passive crossover.
NO low pass for the 2 12″ers! Another example would be the really bad construction quality of the SR-X, but since you going to build the cabs by yourself There is nothing worse for even that price.
Even the drivers are incredibly expensive only because JBL is printed on them! As with other responses, I appreciate your input. My daddy is dead; JD01 wrote: Maybe you are pissed off right now or your daddy always told you that JBL is great. I am passive, content and happy. Your extended and angry addition suggests that possibly you had a poor relationship with your daddy. I have no poor relationship with my dad. I just want to know why in the world someone would like to built that crappy gear.
The only reasons I know are. You, by admition, are not that person so your continued input is seemingly waisted on me. Unless you have these plans hidden under your bed You do seem upset though.

It’s unfortunate that my choice in speaker design could upset you so much. Ive mixed a number of different bands an a system made out of 4 HLA subs and 9 Array tops a side. Ok, the rig didnt sound bad, but it didnt inpress me.
It takes you a day to tune the bloody thing. Theres something wrong in those speakers.
Tha DJ experance isnt da only. Ive had my ears ringing 4 three weeks because of a Vertec rig i went to listen to. I know 3 people who use identical systems using the SR series, and they are constantly having to re-cone Mid and Bass drivers.
The rigs don’t sound that bad, its just those damn horns. I mainly work bjl EV, and the top end on those rigs can be a bit harsh, but nowhere near sr44732 bad as the JBL.
You can get your construction drawings directly from JBL. Go to Sr44732 ‘Professional’ website. Ive probably arrived a bit late for the party on this one. A venue I used to work for has invested in SR Series2 A, on horn and I have to say Im very disappointed in them.
The far smaller Beyma loaded ASS system they used to use sounded much smoother unusually for ASSlouder and was far more robust in terms of driver and cabinet construction. Its a shame to say it but JBL are definitely trading on their sr473 and past glories – thats not to say that all of their gear is bad but these cabinets and the frankly awful TR series should never have been allowed out of the factory with a JBL badge on them.
I dont think anyone will bother measuring them to see if they are exactly the same so long as you dont link up with another system that has the authentic ones. Ahhh the TR series Bet you can’t guess which ones hbl superior and had plenty more bottom end and due to being EQ’d far less in that region, had better output In fact when I opened the boxes, found a HALF baffle then plastic trim to the top of the cab,no damping, tiny inductor coils, equally tiny HF driver, bass driver nbl like an eminence alpha 15 etc.
The berry’s have beefy x-overs,big magnets, damping, bracing etc-only let down was MDF cabs. Just for completion, the new SR7xx line is pretty good! They don’t sound like JBL at all I heard SRX at an outdoors gig with live music not djs ,sounded ‘ok’ but not much reference But if the JBL sign makes you happy without even using your ears JD01 As with other responses, I appreciate your input. Maybe you are pissed off right now or your daddy always told you that JBL is great I am passive, content and happy.
The only reasons I know are 1. Since I don’t think that your ears are bad by default I guess it’s no. Pablo, You can get your construction drawings directly from JBL.
I hope the SRs are better and I wish you luck building them Edited by godathunder. Otherwise borrowing some sr432 cabs and copying them must me the only way to go!
